IMAGININGS
LIFE, DEATH, AND BEAUTY
Imaginings is a collection of sculptures, paintings, poems, prose, small buildings, furniture, toys, and more that I have enjoyed creating throughout the last half-century. These creations, which I call “imaginings,” originate from my response to the sensate world of touch, smell, sight, sound, and taste. When I allow that sensate world to become alive, my imagination soars. The Greeks called this aesthesis, meaning the taking in or percieving through the senses. For the the Greeks the heart was the organ sensation and the place of imagination.
Richard McCutchan Phd
“To the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
